Lymphatic Drainage And Circulation

Good circulation is vital to the ongoing health and maintenance of the human body and our immune system. Accumulation of metabolic wastes and organic acids within our tissues, can interfere with chemical and bio-electrical processes. Over time soft tissue can react to build up of metabolic wastes, that are not being drained away effectively by the lymphatic system. This can lead to tissue changes that create a dimpled appearance to the skin surface of the abdomen, thighs, buttocks and upper arms.

EXTENSIVE LABORATORY AND CLINICAL RESEARCH INTO NON-THERMAL LOW LEVEL LASER THERAPY (LLLT) HAS SHOWN THAT:

  • Soft tissue inflammation and associated fibrosis is reduced (Colls, J. 1984)
  • Blood and Lymph circulation is increased (Lievens, P. 1985) Lymphoedema is a condition that can occur due to genetic influences or sometimes after limb injuries or surgical removal of lymph nodes, which can interfere with normal flow of lymph fluid, causing an accumulation of excess fluid within the tissues. Non Thermal Low Intensity Laser therapy is highly beneficial in activating natural draining excessive fluid from swollen arms and legs by instigating dilation of lymphatic vessels and reducing the associated fibrosis through natural processes.
